Philippians 3:13 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,”
2021 has truly been a tough year for many people not only here in Elizabeth City but also around the world. We could spend all day talking about the negative and fuming over last years problems but that will not help us get through the New Year, 2022.
In Philippians chapter 3, Paul said that he would forget the problems of the past and reach forward into the future. If we are constantly bogged down by the past, we will never have motivation and vision for the present or the future.
If you failed God last year, then this year pick up the baton and press forward, determined to do what’s right in 2022! There are things that happened last year that we must simply let go if we are ever to move forward and have hope for the future.
God has a plan for you regardless of your decisions last year. God wants you to be saved, that is, to receive salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. God then wants you to serve Him so that He can use you in ways greater than you ever imagined!
So rather than focusing on last year’s problems, let’s put them behind us and focus on the New Year that God has allowed us to enjoy!
